TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: 315 miles

The tour starts as you exit the Euro tunnel at Calais and join the European Autoroute system. As some of the northern areas of Europe are quite heavily industrialised and the hotel is some distance from Calais today’s route will mainly utilise the Autoroutes for most of the journey. These routes however are far quieter and more relaxed than in the UK and therefore travelling these distances is much easier than you may imagine.

Located close to the town of Soest in Germany your four star accommodation is a restored 19th century farmhouse with indoor swimming pool and spa.

Day 2: 275 miles

Your first destination today is the Möhnesee dam which was one of the main targets of the famous ‘bouncing bomb’ used to such devastating effect in the Dambuster raids of the Second World War. Your journey continues as you ride the winding roads of the Rothaargebirge national park. Today is a mixture of fabulous rural roads and some Autoroutes which are required to avoid the city of Frankfurt. Free of the motorway system your onward journey follows the winding River Tauber and enters Bavaria. Known for its medieval centre and located on Germany’s Romantic road the beautiful town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber is your destination for the evening. Seemingly untouched by the passage of time and encircled by the undamaged 14th century wall this town is just waiting to be explored.

Day 3: 265 miles

Today you continue South through the Bavarian countryside and ride a section of Germany’s ‘Romantische Strasse’ which winds its way through the myriad of small villages which are so typical of this region. As you pass the city of Munich the towering Austrian Alps slowly become visible in the distance. En-route to your hotel in Zell am See you will ride through what is considered one of the most beautiful parks in world - the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Day 4: 165 miles

Continuing south you cross into Slovenia via the famous Grossglockner pass which at 3,798 metres at the summit is not only the highest mountain in Austria but also counts among the highest peaks in the Alps. En-route you can take a short diversion to visit the Edelweiss Peak or ‘bikers point’ which at over 2,500 meters gives unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 5: (supplied ride-out 130 miles)

Your fabulous four star hotel is located directly on the banks of Lake Bohinj and is perfectly placed to enjoy the many attraction in the area. There are many activities close to the hotel such as the Mostnica Gorge and the Devils Bridge. Alternatively you can take a cable car up Mount Vogel for some incredible views over the lake and mountains, visit Lake Bled or take the bike on the supplied ride-out into the Julian Alps to confront the Kranjska Gora with its 24 cobbled hairpin bends.

Day 6: 135 miles

Today you wind your way out of the Julian Alps and travel further south into Croatia. En-route you can stop to visit the 700 year old Predjama Castle which is set into a huge cavern on the side of a cliff. Alternatively you can visit the Postojna Caves and take the cave train which allows you to admire the size and splendour of this unique underground world. Leaving the splendours of the Castle and caves behind you are soon crossing the Slovenian border on course for Opatija in Croatia. This coastal region has some of the most stunning views in Croatia and the long sandy beaches and forested hills sloping down to the sparkling sea along the Gulf of Kvarner is just the perfect place to sit back, relax and watch the world go by.

Day 7: (supplied ride-out 105 miles)

Today is a rest or ride day enabling you can take advantage of the beach and the numerous bars and restaurants along the sea front or take the supplied ride-out along the coast road and into the beautiful Croatian countryside.

Day 8: 235 miles

Leaving Croatia and Slovenia behind you now head across the Gulf of Venice to one of the greatest motorcycling regions in Europe: the Dolomites. For the next three nights you will enjoy Italian style cooking in a fabulous family owned hotel with indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and underground bike park and wash.

Day 9 - 10: (supplied ride-outs 90 - 110 miles)

As always you are free to organise your own itinerary or follow one of the carefully planned ride-outs which include the Passo di Giau, Passo San Pellegrino, Passo di Falzarego and many more. The Dolomites is without doubt one of the premium biking destinations in Europe and our supplied ride-outs will ensure you ride the very best roads and passes in the area.

Day 11: 250 miles

As you leave the mountains via the winding Pass Di Sella the landscape begins to change to one of rolling countryside and sweeping forest roads. Your hotel tonight is located in a small community in the Alb region of Bavaria.

Day 12: 220 miles

Following a short time on the Autoroute system to pass the cities of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe you enter the forested Pfalzer and Saar Hunsruck National Park. With winding traffic free roads it is no wonder this area attracts bikers from across Europe. Your final destination today is a beautiful hotel located in the Moselle-Saar-Ruwer region of Germany

Day 13: 290 miles

Following breakfast you head north through rural Luxembourg and Belgium eventually joining the motorway system which takes you directly to the Euro Tunnel and back to Folkestone. Euro Tunnel times are flexible and can be changed to suit individual requirements.
