CORSICA & SARDINIA: TWO ISLANDS - TWO WORLDS 2026
While only a narrow strait separates these Mediterranean islands the riding experience shifts dramatically as you cross the water. Corsica is a vertical granite fortress where French sophistication meets a defiant mountain spirit. Its roads are tight, technical and always demand your full attention.
In contrast Sardinia offers a vast ancient landscape that feels like a continent in miniature. Here the Italian dolce vita takes on a rugged rustic edge, trading Corsica's sharp hairpins for smooth tarmac and sweeping curves that flow through prehistoric valleys. Whether you crave the dramatic intensity of the French peaks or the sun-drenched flowing rhythms of the Italian interior each island offers an unforgettable biking experience.

TOUR INFORMATION
Unlike our standard Corsica tour which does contains some high mileage Autoroute days we have reduced the daily mileage to make this tour as relaxed as possible. Although there are some autoroutes it is always worth bearing in mind that the Autoroute system on the continent is far quieter and more relaxed than in the UK: consequently the miles pass by more quickly than you can imagine.
This tour utilises the Eurotunnel crossing but alternative crossings such as Hull to Rotterdam can be organised if required.
This tour does however contain some reasonably high mileage days and challenging mountain roads. Therefore, this tour is suitable for riders who are used to covering distances and who understand and accept the nature of the terrain.
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: 180 Miles
Your fabulous 18-day adventure commences as you board the early morning Eurotunnel for a swift crossing to France. Almost instantly upon departing the shuttle, you head south on typical French rural roads before eventually joining the autoroute system toward Reims. As the historic heart of the Champagne region, Reims welcomes you with its towering Gothic cathedral and elegant architecture. This city is as famous for its royal heritage as it is for the world-renowned sparkling wines that bear the region's name.
Day 2: 260 Miles
Leaving the vine-covered hills of Champagne behind you will soon be enjoying the lightly trafficked, winding forest roads of the Parc National de Forêts - a serene journey through one of the French interior’s best-kept secrets. Your destination is Mâcon, a historic riverside city on the banks of the Saône. Located close to the city centre, your elegant 4-star hotel is equipped with a panoramic rooftop bar, swimming pool, and fitness centre.
Day 3: 200 Miles
Today the real riding adventure begins as your journey continues through the Chartreuse and Écrins National Parks before joining the legendary Route Napoléon, frequently voted as one of the best motorcycling roads in the world. Tomorrow you will be challenged by a section of the lower French Alps and the stunning Verdon Gorge so a good night’s rest is essential and tonight this is provided by a stunning ivy-clad hotel tucked away on the outskirts of the historic town of Gap.
Day 4: 200 Miles
As promised, you now head south via the Verdon Gorge towards your overnight ferry to Corsica. The gorge is a spectacular canyon with limestone walls that rise up to 2,300 feet from the Verdon River below. Cameras should be at the ready as you reach the pre-planned stop overlooking the spectacular turquoise waters of Lac de Sainte-Croix. Your journey continues through the national park before reaching the Mediterranean harbour town of Toulon and your overnight ferry to Corsica.
Day 5: 95 Miles
Following your morning disembarkation, you leave the port of Bastia behind and head north on the open sweeping roads of the eastern Cap Corse peninsula. A completely different riding experience awaits as you cross to the western side; here, the gentle slopes vanish, replaced by towering cliffs, switchback curves, and breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea. Your hotel for the next two nights is located only a short walk from the town centre, beach, and marina.
Day 6:
Today is a well-earned rest day where you are free to relax or create your own special itinerary.
Day 7: 150 Miles
Today, you are back on the bike exploring Corsica's central mountain range. You first ride through the Gorges de Spelunca, followed quickly by the Scala di Santa Regina where granite walls plunge vertically to the river far below. This area is dominated by Monte Cinto which at over 2,700 metres is the island's highest peak. Your journey continues on deserted mountain roads as you cross the Col de la Serra and Col de Sorba with routes as challenging as they are picturesque. Eventually, you descend from the mountains towards the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, Ajaccio. Located a few miles south of the city and just 100 metres from the beautiful Agosta Beach your modern four-star hotel offers an infinity pool with breathtaking sea views.
Day 8: 75 Miles
Today is a ‘Ride or Rest’ day where you are free to explore the area via the supplied ride-out, relax by the pool, or visit the historic streets of Ajaccio.
Day 9: Mileage 75 (to ferry) 80 (to Hotel)
Leaving Ajaccio behind, the route now winds south along twisting coastal roads that offer uninterrupted views over the Mediterranean. Continuing through the rugged, forested mountain passes of the interior, you begin the scenic descent toward the white limestone cliffs of Bonifacio and the one-hour ferry crossing to Santa Teresa Gallura. Once on Sardinian soil, the final leg of the day takes you west along open sweeping tarmac that leads directly to your fabulous beachfront hotel which is located a short walk from town and yards from the pristine sands of Lido di San Giovanni.
Day 10: 135 Miles
You start your day on what is widely considered one of the most spectacular motorcycling stretches in the Mediterranean. Often described as a “pure rider’s road” this ribbon of tarmac hugs the coastline and in places is carved into the volcanic cliffs of this rugged western coastline. Leaving the coast behind the route now strikes inland and climbs through the wild Barbagia region and the ancient mountain landscapes of the Gennargentu National Park. Passing the high-altitude village of Villagrande Strisaili the road now transforms into a series of long, rhythmic curves that sweep you down through the mountains to the striking red-rock gateway of the east coast. With a panoramic swimming pool set within a lush Mediterranean garden and a well-regarded restaurant serving local specialties your hotel for the next three nights is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Day 11-12: Ride-Out (145 Miles)
These two days give you the opportunity to set your own itinerary which could be exploring the iconic Rocce Rosse (Red Rocks), Visit the Capo Bellavista Lighthouse which offers stunning panoramic views over the coast or take the bike on the supplied ride-out where you will discover more of what this stunning Island has to offer.
Day 13: 170 Miles
Today you ride the legendary Orientale Sarda, a road widely regarded as one of the finest motorcycling routes in Europe. The journey takes you through the heart of the Supramonte mountain range and the Passo di Genna Silana. This section is often described as a masterclass in engineering, featuring granite-infused asphalt and a relentless sequence of parabolic curves and sweeping turns. As you navigate the towering limestone cliffs, you’ll be treated to spectacular views over the Gola di Gorropu canyon and the turquoise Gulf of Orosei before transitioning into a sweeping descent to the emerald coast of the north. Tonight you will stay close to Santa Teresa Gallura ferry port ready for your morning crossing back to Corsica and onward to the overnight ferry back to Toulon.
Day 14: 150 Miles
Following your morning crossing to Corsica, you head north along the main transit route toward Bastia. Along the way, you can choose to ride directly to the ferry or take the included inland detour for a final run through the challenging and picturesque Corsica Regional Nature Park. Your overnight ferry offers a cruise-style environment featuring bars, an ‘A la Carte’ restaurant and self-service cafeterias.
Day 15: 210 Miles
Following your arrival in Toulon you immediately head north to the impressive rock-strewn Mont Ventoux. This legendary climb is one of the true highlights and challenges of the Tour de France. Your day ends by riding through the Ardèche Gorges where impressive limestone cliffs wind back and forth presenting spectacular views of the canyon below.
Day 16: 190 Miles
Today you enter the Cevennes National Park toward another of nature's wonders: the Gorges du Tarn. The gorge itself rises over 1,600 feet from the valley floor and is more than 3,000 feet wide. To complete the day, you ride under and over the famous Millau Viaduct. This British-designed structure attracts thousands of tourists a year; with its central pillar standing taller than the Eiffel Tower it is possibly one of the most breathtaking bridges ever built.
Day 17: 290 Miles
You now continue to the Auvergne National Park, which contains no less than four chains of extinct volcanoes that have shaped the landscape into some excellent biking roads. The town of Orléans in the Loire is your final destination where your hotel is situated directly on the banks of the river. The old town is only a short walk away providing the perfect setting for your final night among the many restaurants lining its narrow streets. There are also plenty of bars in the area and for those wishing to sightsee, the fabulous Sainte-Croix Cathedral is comparable only to Notre-Dame in Paris.
Day 18: 265 Miles
Following an early breakfast, you take scenic rural roads through France before eventually joining the motorway system and your Eurotunnel crossing back to the UK.
