TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: 300 miles

Arriving at the Euro tunnel terminal the excitement mounts as you board the train for an early morning crossing to Calais. With no need to leave the bike unattended or even secure it the tunnel really is the fastest and most efficient way to travel to the continent. Following a quick transit south to clear the industrial areas of northern France and Belgium you continue your journey along the quiet back roads of Luxembourg before arriving at your first destination which is a hotel located in the Moselle-Saar-Ruwer region of Germany. Although today is the longest day in terms of mileage some of this will be covered on the Autoroute system which is far quieter and more relaxed than in the UK and therefore the miles will pass quicker than you can imagine.

Day 2: 176 miles
The terrain and landscape now begin to change as you head through the Pfalzer and Saar Hunsruck National Parks. It is no wonder that this area is a favourite with local bikers as the almost traffic free roads twist and turn for miles through the forest. By midday you have crossed the River Rhine and the low lying hills of the Black Forest begin to appear in the distance. A biker friendly hotel will be your home for the next three nights.

Dependent on availability this will either be in a village or a small town. All our hotels in the Black Forest are traditional family run hotels and all are ideally located for you to enjoy everything this stunning area has to offer.

NOTE:

Our small town location does have more restaurants and bars to choose from therefore if you do have a preference of hotel locations please make a note on your booking form.

Day 3 - 4: Various mileages

The B500 is the backbone of the forest and with perfectly engineered tarmac and banked corners it must certainly have been designed by a motorcyclist. Although the B500 is undoubtedly one of the main attractions of the Black Forest there are also plenty of other places to visit such as the spa town of Baden-Baden, Triberg with its waterfalls or Schonach which is home to the world’s biggest working cuckoo clock.

The Black Forest really does have a terrific mix of roads, from long sweepers to the more challenging twisty sections reminiscent of the Alpine regions further south. Although a separate ride-out is supplied for each day you are totally free to construct your own itinerary as required.

NOTE:
If you require more days in the Black Forest or wish to extend this tour in any way then please contact us for more details and pricing.

Day 5: 230 miles

With the Black Forest now well and truly etched in your memory it is now time to head back into the Alsace region of France. Passing through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes you stick to the rural back roads and wind your way into Belgium and the traffic free roads of the Forest d’Orval.

Located in the Ardennes region of Belgium your superb four star hotel enjoys views over the Semois River and the imposing medieval Castle of Godefroy that overlooks the town.

Day 6: 225 miles

Following breakfast you now follow the meandering Semois and Meuse rivers through the Ardennes national park before entering Belgium and joining the motorway system to Calais and your return Euro Tunnel crossing back to Folkestone. Euro Tunnel times are flexible and can be changed to suit individual requirements.

With a fabulous mix of best biking roads, traditional hotels and the best of European hospitality this tour would be suitable for any rider.
