Day 1: 265 miles

Following a morning Euro Tunnel crossing from Folkestone to Calais you make your way to the capital of the Loire Valley, Orleans. This historical old town has many famous landmarks to explore such as the Sainte Croix Cathedral or the Martroi plaza.

Situated just a short distance from the town centre your first overnight hotel is perfectly located to explore the old town with its many bars and restaurants.

Day 2: 289 miles

Leaving Orleans you continue to the Auvergne region and to the largest regional nature park in France. This Volcanic area contains no less than four chains of extinct volcanoes. In recent years this area has played host to the Tour de France and today you will ride a major section of the route as your journey winds through the park to your next overnight stay. Located in a small village in the Massif Central this family run hotel features a gourmet restaurant, terrace and outdoor swimming pool.

Day 3: 240 mile

Today you cross the Gorges Du Tarn via the famous Millau Bridge. This British designed bridge towers over the gorge and attracts thousands of visitors a year. It is the tallest vehicular bridge in the world with the supports rising over a thousand feet from the valley floor. The scenery now begins to change as you travel deeper into rural Spain. The day ends with you riding along the Mediterranean coast and over a stunning mountain pass to the charming fishing town of Cadaqués where you will spend the next two days.

Cadaqués sits on the far North-East of Spain on the edge of the Cap de Creus Peninsula, where the Pyrenees Mountains meet the sea. Salvador Dalí once famously wrote: "I have spent a delightful summer, as always, in the perfect and dreamy town of Cadaqués. There, alongside the Latin sea, I have been quenched by light and colour".

Day 4 - 5: (supplied ride-outs 73 - 145 miles)

Although you may now wish to just relax and unwind, the roads in this area are without doubt some of the best motorcycling roads in Europe. The spectacular coastal route to Tossa de Mar being voted by many bikers as “The best road they have ever ridden”. Your tour pack contains details of this and other awesome ride-outs in the area.

Day 6: 212 miles

Leaving the Mediterranean coast behind the Pyrenees Mountains are your next destination. The Pyrenees are some 300 miles long and form one of the world’s greatest mountain chains, stretching from the Catalan Mediterranean in the south to the Basque Atlantic in the north. Your onward journey will take you through some of the most fantastic scenery you have ever seen. Although reminiscent of other places in Europe such as Austria or the Dolomites, the Pyrenees have a special feel all of their own and as such is an incredible place to ride a motorcycle.

Your luxury hotel is surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Pyrenees and will be your base for the next three nights.

Day 7 - 8: (supplied ride-outs 120 - 180 miles)

From this base high in the mountains you can experience both the Spanish and French Pyrenees as you venture over the incredible Col de Aspin, Peyresourde and Tourmalet. The ride-outs included in your tour pack will ensure you experience the best the area has to offer.

Day 9: 210 miles

As you leave the Pyrenees behind the landscape changes dramatically as you continue your journey along the valley roads and the open sweeping bends of the Ordesa National Park. Famous for the yearly ‘Running of the Bulls’ your destination for the evening is the historic city of Pamplona. Your final hotel is a converted medieval convent located approximately half a mile from the buzzing Plaza del Castillo, a meeting point for locals and visitors alike.

Day 10: 190 miles

Although this is your last day in Spain the great biking roads just keep coming as you cross the province of León towards the Cantabrian Mountains and the overnight ferry across the Bay of Biscay back to the UK.

Day 11:

Afternoon arrival in the UK

With detailed route maps and GPS coordinates guiding you every step of the way this could just be the self guided tour you have been looking for. The riding in the mountains can as always be challenging but if you are an experienced rider or a competent first timer this tour would be suitable.
